Who will be standing tall for Seton Hall this year?

Lets start off by talking about Seton Hall’s starting center and captain, Grant Billmeier. The 6-10 252 Lb Jr. out St. Patrick's High School in Elizabeth NJ is a positive contributor when not in foul trouble. He has a nose for the ball and is a fundamentally sound player. Grant is an excellent passer for his size and has a good short jump shot as well. Would be great in pick and roll and high low situations. Needs to get stronger and develop post moves. Grant played in all 28 games, starting 19 at center. He led the team with a 60.3 field goal percentage and averaged 3.9 points with 3.4 rebounds per game.

Next up is 6-10 245 Lb Marcus Cousin the So. F/C out Baltimore, Maryland. Cousin is said to be the type of player who possesses raw athleticism but is considered. His potential is intriguing, but he will have to show a lot of improvement from last season to earn time in a crowded frontcourt. He has displayed a soft tough and a nice hook shot in pick up games. Could be an effective shot blocker with the needed playing time and confidence. He played in 18 games, averaging 5.7 minutes per contest

Last is this season’s most highly recruited player John Garcia who is a 6-9 265 Lb C out of Brentwood HS in Bayshore, N.Y. Garcia comes in with a reputation for being an accomplished low-post scorer with a bulldog mentality. He could be the true anchor in the middle SHU has been looking for since Jerry Walker. Garcia is a wide body, who is tough to move out of the box. The biggest concern with John is that he is still recovering from knee surgery in the off-season and there are doubts that he can be 100% by the time the season starts. If he can, then he has a chance to be one of the league’s top rookies. The Star player at Brentwood High School on Long Island, who averaged 17 points, 19 rebounds and five blocks per game as a senior while leading Brentwood to the Long Island Class AA Championship and a 20-5 record.
